In the past 24 hours, the Brazil recorded 1,910 deaths caused by Covid-19, breaking the daily death record in pandemic. Until then, the day with the most deaths had been January 7, when 1,841 deaths were counted. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (CONASS) on Wednesday, 3, showing that, with the new deaths, the total number of fatal victims of the pandemic reached 259,271, being the second largest number in the world, surpassed only by the number of deaths of U.S. In the same period, 71,704 new cases of Covid-19 were registered, increasing the number of infected with the new coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2) and its variants to 10,718,630 since the beginning of the pandemic. At the moment, two main databases are used to account for the cases: that of CONASS and that of Press Vehicles Consortium, which usually present different data. Last Tuesday, the consortium pointed out that Brazil had 1,726 deaths caused by Covid-19, being, until then, the most lethal day of the pandemic.
