Request aims to equate the publication of Gentili with that of deputy Daniel Silveira (PSL-RJ), who was arrested after publishing videos of attacks on STF ministers
A Chamber of Deputies filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Federal Court (STF) asking for the arrest of the comedian Danilo Gentili due to publications made on social networks. At the end of February, the presenter used his Twitter profile to suggest that the population should enter the Congress and punch the deputies on account of the PEC of parliamentary immunity. Action was coordinated by deputy Luis Tibé (Avante-MG) after a request by parliamentarian Celso Sabino (PSDB-PA). The attempt aims to equate the publication of Gentili with that of the deputy Daniel Silveira (PSL-RJ), who was arrested after publishing videos of attacks on STF ministers. “I would only believe that this country has a way if the population now enters the Chamber and punches every deputy who is currently discussing parliamentary immunity PECs,” said Gentili in the post.
Over the past week, the comedian criticized Congress on account of the speed with which the PEC of Immunity is proceeding, which alters rules for prison and parliamentarians. After having repercussions, the humorist’s publication was deleted on the social network. In a new publication, Gentili apologized for the suggestion, citing “just criticisms” made by some parliamentarians. “I made a tweet that was subject to fair criticism by some deputies. Those who follow me know that I have always defended institutions. In fact, my fight with bolsonaristas was precisely because I was against the criminal requests to close the STF and Congress ”, said Gentili in his profile.
