TCE advisor asked to be informed of the amount and source of public resources allocated to the project
O Court of Auditors of the State of São Paulo sent to USP a series of questions about the development of the vaccine Versamune, against Covid-19, which is funded by the federal government. The immunizer was announced last week by Ministry of Science and Technology and is developed in partnership with the Brazilian pharmaceutical company Pharmacore and to American PDS Biotechnology. Authorization to carry out clinical tests on humans has already been requested by the government Anvisa.
In the dispatch, ECA counselor Antonio Roque Citadini asked to be informed of the amount and source of public funds allocated to the project, as well as the amount spent so far on developing the vaccine. The ECA also questions State and Union subsidies and asks for the document proving the partnership to be presented. USP must also inform whether private companies have participated in the project, what they are and how the partnerships were established. Now, the São Paulo State Court of Auditors has asked the university for clarification on the matter.
