With a more controlled epidemic situation, countries are planning to return to normal – such as Israel and the United Kingdom, which are presenting plans to reopen. Italy is preparing to accelerate the vaccination plan. In Germany, the country has seen an increase in cases. The United States, on the other hand, talks about the possibility that the masks will continue to be used until 2022.

This is a sign of hope coming from other countries, but Portugal is still far from achieving it. The decrease in the number of cases registered in the last few weeks is significant, but it will still be early for a partial return to normality. However, the Government already has a certainty: it will be through schools that the deflation will begin.

However, in UK, the British are already beginning to have the green light for some activities. After the discovery of a more contagious British variant, which forced a new confinement, Boris Johnson now seems focused on the recovery. The country plans to give at least one dose of the vaccine to all adults by July 31 and the prime minister is preparing to reveal the deconfinition plan for the country today.

According to several British newspapers, schools are expected to open on 8 March, with good news also being given to elderly people in homes – who may now have a face-to-face visit. The return of outdoor leisure activities is also being considered. Other newspapers also state that it will be possible to meet two different families outdoors during the Easter period.

The Government is also expected to authorize the reopening of non-essential stores in April, but hairdressers may have to wait a little longer to be able to receive customers again.

Israel, the country in which vaccination is most advanced, is now preparing to start the lack of definition. This Sunday was the day to reopen most of the businesses and to start using the “green pass” – a document that allows vaccinated and recovered people from covid-19 access to some spaces.

At stake are street commerce, which was closed, open-air markets, shopping centers, libraries and museums, which can now reopen with strict rules to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

For their part, students in the fifth and sixth years of basic education and those in the last years of secondary education can return to classes in regions with a low mortality rate, after the youngest, pre-school and early years of basic education, they did it more than a week ago.

The opening of gyms, swimming pools, hotels and spaces for sporting and cultural events, such as theaters, was also authorized, but with restricted access only to those who have already received the two doses of the vaccine or overcome the coronavirus.

Already in Italy the vaccination process should continue at full speed. The British strategy of vaccinating the largest number of people with the first dose of the vaccine is about to be followed by the government of the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

As the newspaper advances The print, the goal is to accelerate the vaccination program against covid-1 even if it means using all available doses, without reserving some of the vaccines for the second injection.

In addition to changing the vaccination strategy, Monday’s government meeting will also serve to extend circulation restrictions beyond March 5.

On Germany, Health Minister Jens Spahn, urged this Sunday the population to be cautious in the face of the increase in the number of cases of covid-19, when schools are preparing to reopen in the country.

“We see that the numbers are increasing again. This is irritating and creates uncertainty. Therefore, we must continue to be cautious, to test and to vaccinate. The virus is not making things easier for us, ”said Spahn in an interview with the German public broadcaster ARD.

Germany has been partially confined since November and in recent weeks has managed to reduce the rate of infection with the new coronavirus. In recent days the numbers have started to rise, an evolution attributed to the rapid spread of the British variant of the disease, considered more contagious.

Experts warn that a third wave is approaching, now that the 16 federal states are beginning to ease restrictions.

This Monday, schools and day centers in ten of the country’s states reopened. Education is not a federal responsibility in Germany and it is up to each state to decide whether to reopen services.

On the other side of the Atlantic, U.S, a return to normality is also sought. Epidemiologist Anthony Fauci considers this scenario to be possible in the fall or winter of this year, but do not expect a complete return “to what it was in November 2019”, warns Fauci in an interview with the “State of the Union” of CNN. The widespread use of masks may still be prevalent in 2022.

At stake will be the “dynamics of the virus that is in the community”, so Fauci says he prefers caution to audacity and hopes that there is “virtually no threat” of covid-19 before saying that it is safe to abandon the use of a face mask. On a more positive note, the expert predicts that life will be “much better than what we are experiencing now”.

In an interview on the program Meet the Press da NBC, Fauci said it was too early to say when the United States could achieve the desired group immunity. “We want to be at really low levels before we start to think that we are out of danger,” he stressed.
