China is expected to have 12.5 million full-time employees in social organizations by 2025, according to a new five-year development plan (2021-2025) announced by the Ministry of Civil Affairs on Friday.

The Development Plan for Social Organizations provides for a reasonable number of social organizations registered in China. It also requires the total fixed assets of social organizations to reach 590 billion yuan (about 91.5 billion US dollars).

Social organizations with a rating of 3A or higher will represent 25 percent of social organizations registered at the national or county level. More than 80% of social organizations will have sound corporate governance structures and no poor credibility records by 2025, according to the plan.
