During the past 24 hours, Damietta Port received 28 general cargo ships.
The authority estimated the total shipments of wheat and grain stored in the silos of the public and private sectors in the port at about 210 thousand tons, as the balance of the grain and grain silo for the public sector in the port reached about 29 thousand tons, while the balance of wheat in the warehouses of the private sector reached 181 thousand tons, while the circulation of trucks reached 2000 trucks.
Damietta Port Authority said in a statement today, Saturday, that the export movement included about 35,000 tons of general cargo, including 14,000 tons of phosphate, 2,000 tons of sand, 17,000 tons of urea, 2,000 tons of gypsum board and 100 tons of alcohol.
In addition, the import movement of general cargo reached 38 thousand tons, including 16 thousand tons of corn, 15 thousand tons of wheat, 2000 tons of soybeans, 1000 tons of beech wood, 1500 tons of plywood, 2000 tons of soda and 500 tons of iron wire.
While the total export traffic from containers reached 56 TEUs, which include vegetables (potatoes, green onions, peppers, and frozen mixed vegetables), agricultural crops (herbs, onions and garlic) and fruits (strawberries and oranges).
While the number of imported containers reached 120 TEUs and the number of transit containers reached 829 TEUs.
