Novartis topped the list with 3.7 billion pounds, and Eva came in second with 2.6 billion pounds
Pharmaceutical companies operating in the Egyptian market achieved sales of EGP 53.8 billion at the end of last August, with a growth rate of 6.2% compared to sales for the same period last year.
A report issued by the “IMS” global institution for information and consultancy in the field of pharmacy and medical care, of which the Stock Exchange obtained a copy, revealed that 10 pharmaceutical companies acquired about 39% of the market’s sales at the end of last August, recording sales worth more than 21.1 billion pounds.
The report indicated that the top ten best-selling companies include Novartis, Eva Pharma, Amon, Sanofi, Glaxo, Pharco, Pfizer, Epico, Medical Professions, and Global Nabi.
The Swiss “Novartis” ranked first in the list of the best-selling companies with a value of 3.7 billion pounds, followed by “Eva Pharma” with 2.69 billion pounds, and it surpassed “Sanofi”, which came in third place with sales of 2.68 billion pounds.
“Amon” fell to the fourth place with sales of 2.5 billion pounds, and “Glaxo Smith Kline” came in fifth with sales of 2.3 billion pounds.
The Islamic Company for Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals “Pharco” retained the sixth place with sales of 1.84 billion pounds, and “EPICO” came in seventh place with 1.80 billion pounds.
Pfizer ranked eighth with sales of 1.4 billion pounds, and “medical professions” came in ninth place with 1.24 billion pounds.
Global Nabi Pharmaceuticals recorded sales of about 1.21 billion pounds at the end of last August, to enter the list of the best-selling companies in the Egyptian market for the first time in a long time.
