Activists circulated on social media, a video of a Saudi youth, verbally and physically assaulting two girls on the street, documenting his action on video and bragging about it.

Words coming out and slandering

The circulating video that “Watan” monitored shows two girls wearing an abaya, walking in the street, behind them a young man cursing them with external words. Then he throws it into a can or a cup full of a drink.

The two children are content to continue their walk, as if they are afraid of what has happened, while the publisher of the video commented sarcastically: “A little bit of it will harm.”

What sparked a wave of anger among the activists who demanded his arrest. One of them wrote: “The disobedient was the first to be exposed because the community is small. Currently, society has grown and Prime Time Zone have diverged, but Glory be to God has placed power over the disobedient mobs who portray his guilt and expose himself.

Another commented: “The little moron has forgotten about a law that protects this child, the filthy forms of his voice know his style and his way of life.”

Another suggested that the young man would not be punished, which caused him to persevere, and wrote: “I guarantee that he will punish him, and that society will justify his behavior, what is he afraid of?”

And, tweeting in the name of Zina, said: “They are developing from bad to worse.”

Khalaf demanded that he be arrested quickly, and wrote: “I will not rest unless I see that this villain has been arrested.”

And the tweet attacked all the young men and said: “Why are the children not able to walk in the street while they are silent about their throats? Is the matter difficult to hog.”

While there has been no official comment from the authorities responsible for the video, the Kingdom is witnessing strange incidents since the big changes made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman under allegations of openness and the absence of the role of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, which was an obstacle against these practices.

Activists previously shared on social media a video documenting the moment a group of youth harassed another handsome young man in front of an exchange machine in Jeddah.

And the video appeared in the video the moment the young man went to the exchange machine, and two young men approached him, and one of them asked him: “How much is your night”, to lose his nerve and throw him to the ground and hit him hard.

The other young man comes to try to save his friend, and the harassed young man also beat him, which prompted him to flee, while the first young man remained unable to move.

The tweeters reported that one of the young harassers suffered a broken jaw after the assault.

He molested a girl inside her car

A young man was also shown in a video of harassing a girl in her car, in a way that the tweeters described as disgusting.

The video shows a young man harassing the girl from behind the windshield of her car, by sticking his tongue out in an unethical manner.

It is worth noting that the Kingdom’s Council of Ministers held a meeting headed by the Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Where he approved a package of decisions, including the addition of a paragraph to Article 6 of the Law on Combating the Crime of Harassment.

This paragraph states: “The judgment issued determining the penalties referred to in this article may include the text to publish its summary at the expense of the convicted person in one or more local newspapers. Or in any other appropriate way. This is according to the gravity of the crime and its impact on society. Provided that the publication after the judgment acquires the final character.

The anti-harassment system, which came into effect in 2018, also provides for heavy penalties, including imprisonment for up to 5 years, and heavy fines for convicts. But it did not include at the time articles that would allow defamation of harassers under any circumstances.

Following the issuance of the amendment, thousands of Twitter users in the Kingdom traded the hashtag “Anti-harassment crime system”. To climb very quickly to the top of the “most traded” in Saudi Arabia.

A large number of social media users welcomed this amendment, considering it a strong step to eliminate the phenomenon of harassment.
