Al-Duhail, the Qatari club, has officially announced the signing of the 29-year-old Tunisian former star of Zamalek, Ferjani Sassi, on a free transfer for three years.

Al-Duhail, the Qatari club, said in an official statement, which was published on its social media account, that an agreement had been reached with the Tunisian international player Ferjani Sassi, the former midfielder in the ranks of the Egyptian Zamalek team, after the latter refused to renew his contract and wanted to leave.

Al-Duhail did not reveal the details of the agreement and the contract with the player Ferjani Sassi, as it contented itself with reaching a contract with him for the next three seasons.

Tunisian Sassi commented, after the Qatari club Al-Duhail announced his contract in a tweet posted on his account on the social networking sites “Twitter”, saying: “In the name of God, I trust in God, I am happy to be part of this beautiful club. I am excited for the beginning.”

His football career

The career of the Tunisian player Ferjani Sassi began in the Tunisian club Sfax in 2010, and he played 83 matches with the Tunisian team, in which he scored 8 goals and made 7 others.

Then he moved to the French team Metz, with whom he participated in 39 games, scoring one goal and making two others, and in 2016 he moved to the Tunisian Esperance team.

He played 39 matches with him and scored 7 goals with Esperance and won the Tunisian League title during the 2016-2017 season and the Tunisian Cup during the 2015-2016 season.

In the 2018 season, Tunisian Ferjani Sassi joined the Saudi Al-Nasr team, played 9 matches with him and made two goals, but he did not score any of the goals.

And he moved to the Egyptian team Zamalek in July 2018 with a contract for three full seasons, where he participated with the Egyptian team in 64 matches.

Through it, he managed to score 12 goals in all competitions with Zamalek, to decide this season to leave after the expiration of his contract and sign with Al Duhail of Qatar.

In terms of international participation, Ferjani Sassi’s participation with the Tunisian national team was in 2013, and he has played 60 matches so far, scoring 5 goals, in light of his preparation for the upcoming participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
