An American activist put the son-in-law of former US President Jared Kushner in great embarrassment, during his speech during the celebration of the United States and Israel yesterday, the one-year anniversary of the signing of the normalization agreement, or what was known as the “Abraham Accords,” the agreement that led to the normalization of 4 Arab countries of their relations with Israel.

On this occasion, Kouchner inaugurated the “Peace Institute for the Abraham Agreements,” where Kouchner is considered one of the most prominent architects of these agreements.

American activist screams at Kushner

During his speech to officials from (Israel, the Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco), an American activist interrupted Kushner’s speech, shouting in his face, “There is no peace until the Palestinians are liberated.”

Kushner appeared confused after the American activist boycotted him, but he corrected the matter and smiled at the cameras that were filming him.

Soon, the security men intervened and arrested the girl, trying to get her out of the conference hall during which Kushner was giving a speech.

Kouchner said that the institute aims to continue the momentum of the agreements, especially through economic means, adding that “an attempt must be made to bring additional countries into the circle of peace.”

Ibrahim agreements (normalization)

The departure of former US President Donald Trump from the White House at the beginning of this year lost the “Ibrahim Agreements”, the momentum they had enjoyed, after they were launched in the last year of the president’s term.

The term “Abraham agreements” was absent from the lexicon of President Joe Biden’s administration, with US State Department spokesman Ned Price declaring, on more than one occasion, his administration’s preference for using the term “normalization agreements.”

The announcement by former US President Trump on August 13, 2020, the decision of the UAE and Israel to normalize relations between the two countries, surprised the world.

With the signing of the UAE and Bahrain on September 15, 2020, at the White House, the Ibrahim Declaration to normalize relations with Israel, the process gained great momentum.

Soon, Sudan joined by announcing on October 23, 2020, the normalization of its relations with Israel, and then the United States announcing on December 10, 2020 the decision of Israel and Morocco to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries.

At the time, Israeli and American officials talked about the possibility of 5 to 10 Arab and Islamic countries joining this process.

However, with Trump leaving the White House in January 2021, talks about the imminent signing of agreements by Arab and Islamic countries to normalize their relations with Israel have been absent from the headlines.

Shlomo Ganor, an Israeli political analyst, believes that “events on the Palestinian-Israeli track” and the geopolitical changes in the region and the world, especially the change of the US administration, have led – to some extent – to recede the normalization process.

But Ganor says, “A year later, normal relations have achieved some kind of progress and some of the goals that were desired from them.”

President Biden had announced his adoption of the “two-state solution” and his quest to restart Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, after his predecessor had rejected this solution.

And vanished from the table, the so-called “deal of the century” plan drawn up by the former president and vehemently rejected by the Palestinians. According to Anatolia.
