Al-Wardani: A new batch of Corona vaccine arrives soon
AstraZeneca in Egypt intends to launch 8 new drugs this year.
Hatem Al-Wardani, CEO of the company, said that AstraZeneca in Egypt plans to increase its investments in the Egyptian market in the coming period.
The company held a press conference to announce the approval of the Egyptian Drug Authority for a new addition to the drug Forsega “dapagliflozin” for treating heart failure.
Al-Wardani added that the company provided 6 new preparations last year as part of its commitment to provide the necessary treatment with the latest therapeutic developments in the world, in addition to creating innovative solutions for patients with various treatment methods.
The company has been present in the Egyptian market since 1968, and has a factory for the local production of cosmetics in 6th of October on an area of 6 thousand square meters. The company achieved sales of 1.6 billion pounds by the end of last year, a growth rate of 4.9%.
In response to a question by Al-Borsa, Al-Wardani stated that a new batch of the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine to treat the Corona virus is expected to arrive in the coming months.
At the end of last month, Egypt received the first batch of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine, against the emerging corona virus, according to what was announced by the Egyptian Organization for Single Purchase.
The Ministry of Health announced that Egypt will receive 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine in February, after signing an agreement to supply 20 million doses, sufficient for 10 million citizens.
