China has issued a general plan to promote unified development at the national level, as part of the country’s pursuit of high-quality development and modernization.
The document, jointly published by the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, outlines detailed measures to ensure the country achieves its long-term development goals until 2035.
Thanks to the improvements to be made in the standardized management system with Chinese characteristics, by 2035 China will have a unified market-driven, government-oriented and enterprise-oriented development pattern featuring collective participation, openness and integration, according to the document.
The document indicated that reforms in standardization work will be carried out by 2025. The government and market will contribute to the standard-setting process, industrial standards will cover all sectors of the economy, and international cooperation in standardization work will be intensively deepened.
