The Holding Company for Electricity began discussing procedures for implementing the first phase of developing and raising the efficiency of electricity distribution and transmission networks in 50 centers as part of the Decent Life initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to improve the standard of living in these villages.
Sources told Al-Borsa that the Electricity Holding Company is preparing to launch tenders for the implementation of the works related to supplying cables and transformer stations, and local companies have been reviewed and counted to participate in the supply of tasks in a list of more than 10 companies, the most important of which are El Sewedy Electric, Ijmac, Almako, Energy, Egytech and Al Alamia.
The sources pointed out that tenders and practices will be put forward to supply the tasks that need electricity in the first phase of the Life With Decree initiative, with a total cost of about 23 billion pounds.
Ayman Hamza, the media spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, said that the development of electricity networks in 150 centers as part of the Decent Life initiative will take place in 3 phases, and the first phase, which includes 50 centers, will have an initial total cost of about 23 billion as a first phase.
Hamzah said that the electricity distribution companies nationwide have begun coordination with the various authorities concerned with implementing the state’s plan to develop 150 centers as part of the Decent Life Initiative, and daily meetings and discussions are held with the distribution companies to ensure the speedy implementation of projects for raising the efficiency of the electricity distribution and transmission networks.
He explained that the development plan for the electricity networks in the villages targeted by the initiative is to improve service, raise the efficiency of electrical supply, complete the conversion of exposed low-voltage conductors to insulated, and change the conductors of small sections to others with suitable sections.
As well as raising the capacity of transformers, replacing dilapidated poles, replacing suspended transformers with kiosks, creating new feeders to integrate all tasks of the distribution network to improve performance and stability of electrical supply, and to develop solutions to avoid problems of long lines.
