Facebook Inc, the world’s largest digital social network, said on Friday that a new global agreement that ensures large companies pay a minimum tax of 15 percent could make the company pay more tax.
“Facebook has long advocated overhauling global tax rules, and we know this can mean (for us) paying more taxes, in different places,” Facebook’s Vice President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg said in a statement.
“The tax system needs to gain public confidence while bringing stability to companies,” he said. We are happy to see an international consensus” in this field.
