The name of the soldier, Abeer Al-Rashed, topped the search engines in the Kingdom after she presented the press conference to the leaders of the Hajj security forces, to become the first woman in the history of the Kingdom to perform this task, which was the preserve of soldiers.
In the video clip, which was broadcast on Saudi television and spread widely, after Abeer Al-Rashed gave the military salute, she said: “We salute you from the Unified Security Operations Center in the Makkah region.”
And she continued: “We welcome you to the press conference of the leaders of the Hajj security forces for this year’s Hajj season 1442, in which the security, traffic and organizational plans for maintaining the security and safety of pilgrims are shedding light on the safety and security of the pilgrims.”

Al-Rashed appeared in her black military uniform, including her hat, which he wore over the veil, to perform the military salute to the officers who will hold the press conference, including the Director of Public Security, the commander of the Hajj security forces, Major General Zayed Toyan.
The video clip, which documented Al-Rashed’s presentation of the press conference, witnessed a remarkable circulation on social media, amid encouraging comments about the step taken by those in charge of the press conference.
The Saudi soldier received wide praise from its citizens, although there were some criticisms.
No female soldier has ever appeared to present the annual press conference, despite the fact that women participate in the Hajj season and in all security, health and organizational tasks.
And the Saudi artist, Fayez Al-Maliki, published the video clip on his Twitter account, and commented, “A girl from my country, like you, we are proud. Abeer Al-Rashed presented the Hajj press conference.”

During the first press conference of the leadership of the Hajj security forces for the Hajj season of this year 1442 AH, Al-Tuwan announced that “there will be permits from the Ministry of Interior for workers in the Mashaer area.”
He explained, “The number of pilgrims for this year was determined due to the Corona virus pandemic, as part of the precautionary measures that were taken.”
He stressed that all pilgrims will be received through 4 entrances only, pointing out that the system will be applied against violators or intruders of the Mashaer area.
And the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced last month, restricting the availability of registration for those wishing to perform the Hajj rituals for the year 1442 AH to citizens and residents inside Saudi Arabia only, with a total of 60,000 pilgrims.
This is in light of what the whole world is witnessing of the continuing developments of the Corona virus pandemic and the emergence of new mutations.
