Gold prices continued to decline in the local market, during trading today, Wednesday, in light of the decline of an ounce on the global stock exchange, due to the high yield of US bonds, which led to the reluctance of investors to gold.
Amir Rizk, a member of the Gold Division in the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, said that gold prices fell today by 5 pounds, so that a 21-carat gold gram loses about 15 pounds over two days and records 780 pounds, with an ounce retreating about 35 dollars to record 1788 dollars.
He added to “Al-Borsa” that a 24-carat gold gram recorded 892 pounds, and 18 karat records 669 pounds, and the price of a pound of gold reached 6240 pounds.
