And the mummy of “Ahmose” is absent because of her presence in the Luxor Museum

Dr. Zahi Hawass, former Minister of Antiquities, said that the procession of royal mummies that will march in the streets of Cairo tomorrow evening, corresponding to April 3, will be a global event that will enter the home of every person in the world.

Hawass added during his speech in a video to talk about the procession of royal mummies, that this procession will show the magic of the mummies, which consists of 22 kings and queens, who will roam the streets of Cairo on a journey that starts from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.

He added that the procession consists of 18 mummies of a king and 4 mummies of queens, and it is decided that the mummy of King “Sqnen Ra” will lead the procession.

He added that King Seknen Ra was the one who started the liberation war against the Hyksos who colonized Egypt for more than 150 years.

He said that studies and CT scans proved that King Seknen Ra was captured by the Hyksos during the war of liberation, and after his death his soldiers transferred him to Luxor for embalming in the royal workshop for embalming.

His children later completed King Ahmose and Kamos in the war of liberation and liberated Egypt from the Hyksos, but unfortunately, the mummy of King Ahmose will not be present in the procession, but it is in the Luxor Museum.

And later on, the rest of the kings will follow Ahmose-Nefertari, the great queen who married King Ahmose, followed by King Amenhotep the First, and Thutmose the First, and so all the mummies will march in the procession according to the historical sequence up to the 20th Dynasty.

Hawass explained that the mummy of King Thutmose III is among the mummies of the procession, after making a CT scan on it, and we found that the deceased king wears wonderful gold bracelets.

He added that through a CT scan, we were also able to find out that some mummies died of heart disease, and that King Ramses II suffered from old age diseases, while the mummy of King Ramses III was subjected to the “harem” plot, according to what was mentioned in the papyri. CT shows that the cause was slaughtered with a knife.

Hawass explained that the reason for the transfer of royal mummies is to display them for the first time in a civilized manner in the Civilization Museum, which is located in a wonderful place inside the Ain Al Sira Lake.

He added that the mummies inside the Museum of Civilization will display each mummy with its own coffin, statues of each king and queen, and artifacts dating back to each era, along with information on mummification, as well as all the results of CT scans and DNA analysis.

Hawass said that this procession is awaiting the world, and it is a huge propaganda for Egypt and constitutes the largest propaganda for tourism, culture and politics, as the name of Egypt will enter every home and place in the world by broadcasting the event live.

The article Hawass: King “Seknen Ra” leads the procession of mummies tomorrow. It was written in the Al-Borsa newspaper.
