Official data showed on Tuesday that China continued to witness a generally stable housing market in January this year, as home prices in 70 major cities showed moderate increases on a monthly basis.
New home prices in four first-tier cities – Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou – rose 0.6 percent month over month in January, compared to a 0.3 percent increase recorded last December, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
A total of 31 second-tier cities saw a 0.4 percent monthly increase in new housing prices, while 35 third-tier cities saw a 0.2 percent monthly increase last month.
