Institute of Petroleum data shows a drop in US oil and fuel stocks


Market sources said, quoting figures from the American Petroleum Institute today, Tuesday, that stockpiles of Crude Oil Gasoline and distillates in the United States fell last week as many refineries and offshore drilling facilities remained closed in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

Crude stocks fell by 6.1 million barrels in the week ending September 17, while gasoline stocks fell by 432,000 barrels, according to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Distillate stocks, which include diesel and heating oil, fell 2.7 million barrels.
