The prominent journalist and chief broadcaster of Al-Jazeera, Jamal Rayan, launched a violent attack on the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, after the latter considered Al-Jazeera as a reason to impede reconciliation efforts and end the crisis.

Anwar Gargash had claimed in a tweet he had on his official account (Watan) monitored that the Qatari media platforms – meaning Al Jazeera – seemed determined to undermine any agreement, describing this as a strange and difficult phenomenon, according to his claim.

The tweet, which was met with a violent and embarrassing response by Jamal Rayan, where he directed a question to the Emirati minister, who is close to Bin Zayed and kept his secrets: “What about the Emirati spy platforms on the media phones of Al Jazeera channel?”

And he continued: “Open up for me, your Excellency, the Minister, and I will send you the fabricated sexual photos of me, my father and my mother, which are documented with Emirati phone numbers, which have not stopped penetrating my phone.”

Gargash’s statements contradict the reality that has monitored Emirati attempts to attack Doha since Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia confirmed that progress had been made towards an agreement to end the ongoing Gulf crisis since the summer of 2017, early December.

It is noteworthy that in early December, the UAE-backed “Sky News Arabia” channel broadcast a program against Qatar, hours after the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, announced reaching an agreement to end the Gulf crisis, expressing his happiness with “resolving the dispute between the brothers.” And keenness on Gulf and Arab solidarity.

On the 18th of this month, the “Al Sharq Bloomberg” channel, based in Dubai, published an attack on a member of the ruling family in Qatar, and claimed his involvement in smuggling Egyptian antiquities.

It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt imposed a blockade on the State of Qatar, since June 2017; On the pretext of its support for terrorism, which Doha denies, which has repeatedly affirmed that the aim of the blockade is to influence its sovereign decision.

The crisis severed transportation links, separated families, and cost billions of dollars in investment and trade losses.

The annual summit of the Gulf states will be held in Saudi Arabia on January 5, and the real indicator of the Gulf reconciliation will be the level of Qatari representation, according to analysts.
