The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced today, Tuesday, the successful operation of a project to expand its refining capacity and produce low-emission, less polluting fuel, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said.
The agency said that the project includes the modernization and development of the Mina Abdullah refinery to increase its refining capacity to 454,000 barrels per day, and the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery to 346 thousand barrels per day, adding that they will produce high-quality oil derivatives in compliance with international environmental standards (Euro 4) and (Euro 5) to reduce emissions and pollutants. .
KUNA said the project is part of Kuwait’s goal to increase the total refining capacity to 1.6 million barrels per day in 2025.
