LNG prices for spot sale in Asia jump 40% to a record level

Prices jumped Natural gas Liquefied for immediate sale in Asia 40% to a record level above $ 56 per million thermal units today, Wednesday, amid a global energy crisis and low gas stocks.

According to data from Standard & Poor’s Global Platts, the prices of LNG shipments for December delivery rose above $ 57 per million British thermal units.

The rise in prices in Asia comes at a time when the winter season is just beginning in the northern half of the world and while demand for heating is expected to rise from large buyers of LNG such as China and Japan.
