Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had instructed that Egypt have, by the end of 2022, the first integrated plant for creating plasma derivatives.
The Prime Minister added that the administrative capital has already been chosen to establish this plant, as the implementation work has already begun, and at the same time there are 40 plasma collection centers nationwide that will be ready, in addition to another plan after 2022 to increase these centers.
This came during the inauguration of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, today, Thursday morning, the city of medicine in the Khanka region of Qalyubia Governorate, in the presence of Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and a number of ministers and senior statesmen.
The Prime Minister noted the importance of the plasma derivatives project, explaining that very few countries in the world have this infrastructure, and there is a national security trend to secure accurate and highly complex medicines.
He pointed out that the plasma derivatives contribute to the treatment of many diseases, including: liver failure, tumors, critical care, immunity and leukemia, all of which are drugs imported by the state, and he said that entering the state in this important field once again secures this type of advanced medicine.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the House of Representatives recently approved the law and legislation for this large project, and the establishment of the company for managing this important project has been completed, which will be a qualitative leap for Egypt during the next phase.
The “Medical City” is among one of the most important national projects that the Egyptian state sought to implement to possess modern technological and industrial capacity in this vital field, allowing citizens to obtain high-quality and safe drug treatment, preventing any monopolistic practices and controlling drug prices, in support of the efforts undertaken By the state in the field of various medical and health initiatives and services for citizens.
It is also one of the largest cities of its kind in the Middle East on an area of 180 thousand square meters, and it is equipped with the latest technologies and global systems in drug production to become a regional center that attracts major international companies in the field of pharmaceutical and vaccine industries.
