Malaysia decided today, Sunday, to lift restrictions on domestic (interstate) and international travel for the resident population who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, after the country achieved its goal of immunizing 90% of its adult population.
Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaqoub said – in a press conference, according to the Malaysian news agency Bernama – that the government agreed to allow fully vaccinated Malaysians to travel abroad without applying for permission.
Yaqoub added that the new rules will become effective as of tomorrow, Monday, noting that his country’s government is preparing to shift to a stage where it will not impose a wide closure again if cases of Covid-19 increase.
