Ambassador Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that he is about to set a date for the joint bilateral committee between Egypt and Qatar, with the aim of assessing the obligations of the two parties and the necessity to implement them.
He indicated during a telephone interview with the Al-Hekaya program on MBC Egypt that the Egyptian side follows up on a daily basis all that is issued by the Qatari media forces in dealing with Egypt for review.
Shoukry added that Egypt is committed to implementing the document of the “Al-Ula” summit in Saudi Arabia, which included restoring diplomatic relations with Qatar, abolishing the flight ban, and returning the bilateral committees to negotiate again between the two sides.
Shoukry said that the Egyptian side is looking forward to the accession of a number of Gulf countries to the Eastern Mediterranean Forum, located between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece.
He added that the Gulf states have common national security interests, which enhances their presence in the Eastern Mediterranean Forum alliance.
