Zayed: Equipping 30 model hospitals at a cost of 4.5 billion pounds
The Ministry of Health and Population has completed raising the efficiency of 34 chest and fever hospitals nationwide, at a total cost of 438 million pounds.
Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, said during the inauguration of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, today, Tuesday, of a number of national projects in the health sector, that 81 hospitals have been allocated in all governorates of the Republic to receive patients with the Corona virus emerging during the pandemic, as it is the first barrier to all infectious diseases.
Zayed added that 30 model hospitals have been equipped at the level of the Republic, which are the nucleus of providing health services within the comprehensive health insurance system, and the total project cost amounted to 4.5 billion pounds.
The Minister of Health reviewed the developments of work in the national project for the manufacture of plasma, within the framework of the state’s endeavor to achieve self-sufficiency in plasma derivatives and secure Egypt’s needs. Eight centers for plasma collection have been completed, and 20 centers are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
She added that the implementation of the project will contribute to providing the possibility of exporting to other countries after achieving self-sufficiency, and saving about 1 billion pounds annually, as medicinal products that are used to treat a number of diseases are imported (burns, liver diseases, diseases, immunity and leukemia, diseases Blood thinners, kidney disease).
