Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held a meeting to follow up the position of implementing the national project to deliver natural gas to homes in the governorates of the Republic.
During the meeting, Al-Mulla followed up the current delivery rates as part of the plan being implemented during the fiscal year 2020-2021, to deliver natural gas to about 1.2 million housing units.
The minister said that the plan is proceeding with distinguished implementation rates that exceed the plan, whether in the field of converting residential units to use natural gas or extending new gas networks in the targeted areas.
The meeting also reviewed the work plan to implement projects to deliver natural gas to villages within the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, “a decent life” to develop the villages and hamlets most in need, and the steps taken to implement natural gas networks in these villages, and the ongoing coordination to extend the networks after completing the sanitation networks in the villages that did not enter them.
Al-Mulla explained that the natural gas delivery projects are among the state’s priorities to improve life in these villages and provide civilized services for their residents.
The meeting witnessed a review of the progress of the implementation of the natural gas delivery project to the subsidized municipal bakeries, in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply, and the steps for using prepaid natural gas meters.
