The National Electricity Technology Company “Kahraba” is completing its business of selling electricity in the Anshas and Wadi Al-Natrun areas with an actual capacity of 75 megawatts.
The Electricity Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency had agreed to annex the geographical scope of Wadi al-Natrun to the company and granted it the right to sell electricity with an actual capacity of 25 megawatts, and it also agreed to include a range of Prime Time Zone with actual capacities of 50 megawatts.
Sources revealed to the “Stock Exchange”, that the volume of the work of the National Electricity Technology Company in Wadi Natrun and Inshas exceeded 190 million pounds, and after the decision of the Electricity and Consumer Protection Facility, the company began to resume work at a faster pace, especially after the stumbling that occurred over the past months due to the lack of approvals. .
The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy is about to complete the increase in the length of the networks of 500 kilovolts to 6006 kilometers.
Sources said that the length of the networks increased by about 3600 km during 6 years, and those lengths were added by huge projects implemented by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company during the past years, with investments exceeding 70 billion pounds.
The sources stated that part of these projects were funded through loans from Egyptian banks led by the National Bank of Egypt and Egypt, and another part was funded by the state’s strategic plan from the Ministry of Planning, in addition to another part of the ministry and the company’s own resources.
Investments include strengthening the electricity transmission network by adding, replacing and renewing overhead lines and transformer stations for extra and high voltages. Work is still continuing to complete the transmission network development plan.
The capacities of transformer stations with a voltage of 500 kilovolts have been increased by about 4 times compared to the situation of the network in 2014 at the same voltage, in addition to what has been added to the lengths of lines and capacities of transformer stations in the rest of the efforts through the establishment of new or existing projects.
