Today, convoys of the presidential initiative “Nour Hayat” received citizens in several governorates, including Sharqia, Beni Suef, Qalyubia, Kafr El Sheikh, Damietta and Assiut, to conduct medical examination of eyes and dispense treatment and medical glasses for cases discovered with causes of weakness and vision loss over a period of two days.
Tamer Abdel-Fattah, Executive Director of the Long Live Egypt Fund, said that the services of the Nour Hayat initiative are provided in the framework of coordination with the projects implemented by the state to develop the Egyptian countryside as part of the Decent Life Initiative.
He pointed out that the fund works to achieve integration between the programs and services it provides in the fields of social protection, health care, and economic development for the most vulnerable families, and the various projects implemented through the Decent Life Initiative.
Abdel Fattah explained that it is planned to provide medical service to about 3 thousand citizens throughout the day and tomorrow, and one convoy will receive 500 citizens at 50% of its previous capacity, in implementation of the precautionary measures imposed by the government to confront the emerging Corona virus.
He pointed out that the convoys are examining the eyes of the citizens whose condition has been studied, and making sure that they are entitled to free service, provided that cases requiring cataract operations are transferred to hospitals of the armed forces and the Ministry of Interior in each governorate, as well as dispensing treatment from inside the mobile clinics of each convoy.
The Executive Director of the Long Live Egypt Fund indicated that the initiative has provided health care services since its launch in February 2019 to citizens of 19 governorates, represented in Suez, Ismailia, Port Said, Sharkia, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Qalyubia, Menoufia, Kafr El Sheikh, Alexandria, Damietta, and the Red Sea. Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, and Matrouh.
