During Egypt’s statement to the United Nations General Assembly today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of debt relief for developing countries. To include the group of middle-income countries, as the demographic weight of this group of countries gives it a pivotal importance .. as it includes the majority of the world’s population, so it is a main center for the consumption of goods and services at the international level and a major driver of global economic growth.”
He added, in light of the international move to issue about $650 billion in Special Drawing Rights within the framework of the International Monetary Fund, Egypt sees great importance in exploring appropriate ways…to employ these resources to serve the needs of the developing world, including low- and middle-income countries.
