Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly agreed to what was proposed by Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, to increase the training and technology allowance for members of the Journalists Syndicate by 20% at an annual cost of 60 million pounds, and to support the union’s pension fund by ten million pounds, and to support the “unemployment benefit” allowances for “unemployed” journalists. », With twenty million pounds, at a total cost of 90 million pounds, as of next July.
The Minister of Finance affirmed that this decision comes within the framework of the state’s keenness to improve citizens ’incomes and its understanding of the additional expenditures that journalists incur to develop their professional and technological capabilities in a manner that qualifies them to perform their noble mission in a more professional manner, consistent with the strategic project to digitize the state and move to« Egypt. Digital », given the necessity of developing the technical skills of journalists, in a way that ensures the continuation of an effective contribution to building national awareness, deepening the spirit of belonging, and preserving the Egyptian identity.
