Today, Tuesday, the Egyptian capital, Cairo, witnessed the holding of the meeting of the Egyptian-Qatari Follow-up Committee to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries during the next stage.
This comes after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Saturday, August 28, in Iraq on the sidelines of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.
The Egyptian side was headed by Ambassador Yasser Othman, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs, and the Qatari side, Ali bin Fahd Al-Hajri, the Foreign Minister’s special envoy for regional affairs.
During the meeting, they reviewed the files listed on the committee’s agenda, and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries during the next stage.
And last Saturday, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) said that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, discussed with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, during the meeting held between them in Baghdad, the development of bilateral relations and urgent international and regional issues.
