The Ready-made Garments Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries plans to open a permanent training center for labor in the Asmarat district, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
Mohamed Abdel Salam, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, said that the center will provide a set of trainings for beginners to qualify them to work in factories according to the required numbers and specializations.
Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, conducted an inspection tour in the Asmarat region, to follow up on the work of the last day of the training course organized by the Chamber, in one of the ministry’s training centers.
The Minister reviewed the training materials provided to the participating girls, and praised the importance of programs to qualify girls and women to work in factories.
The head of the Ready-to-Wear Chamber said that the training comes as part of the Chamber’s efforts to provide the required workers for factories operating in the sector, especially in the Greater Cairo area.
He added that these trainings contribute to achieving the economic empowerment of women, which is one of the important priorities in which the state authorities join hands with the private sector.
He explained that the ready-made garment industry is the most employing sector for women and girls, which qualifies them to play a tangible role in providing them with adequate job opportunities and a decent life.
Al-Kabbaj and Abdulsalam handed out certificates of passing the training course to the girls participating in the training course, according to the statement issued by the Federation of Industries Ready-Made Chamber.
The Chamber had announced a plan to train girls from the age of 18 to 30 from the residents of the Asmarat neighborhood, who have a desire to obtain a job opportunity in the ready-made garment sector, through a two-week program, where the Chamber gives a reward to the girls during the training period.
