Sandy’s dance video over the Khufu pyramid sparks the Egyptians’ anger | A homeland tweeting outside the flock

The artist Sandy caused a wide wave of controversy among activists on the communication sites, and her name was published in the search engines after the spread of a video of her dancing over the Great Pyramid of Giza Khufu.

Through the hashtag “# Sandy_above_the_pyramid”, which was active on Twitter Egypt, the activists shared clips from a video clip that Sandy filmed for one of the international clothing brands, which showed her dancing over the pyramid and other landmarks in Cairo.

This sparked the anger of archaeologists and those interested in antiquities in Egypt, who called on the authorities to issue a statement to clarify and investigate the matter.

Sandy appeared at the beginning of the advertisement while she was above the Great Pyramid of Khufu and moved from it to a number of other landmarks in central Cairo, the Nile and the Pyramid Panorama area, during which she showed the fashion of a clothing brand in dance moves.

And one of the activists wrote through the hashtag, “Anyone who climbs a trail without obtaining permission exposes himself to a penalty of imprisonment for a period of no less than a month and a fine of up to 100,000 pounds, or one of these two penalties.”

And an activist praised the advertisement by saying: “A remarkable development in this company is that it responds to a famous artist like Sandy, and that he makes an advertisement by force, so he keeps a diligent job.”

Actress Sandy explains what happened

For her part, Sandy explained in a tweet to her through her official Twitter account, and said: “My dear republic, I would like to make it clear that the rise of the pyramid is dangerous and not allowed, and accordingly graphic techniques were used because the scene of the pyramid in my last ad appears in this way.”

And she concluded: “We encourage anyone that he violates safety instructions or puts himself at risk.”

According to the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Watan, archaeological researcher Magdy Shaker called for an investigation into the incident, especially after punishing a number of adventurers who climbed the pyramid before.

He explained that climbing the pyramid to its top is prohibited according to the law and regulations of the Ministry of Antiquities in Egypt, where Law No. 117 of 1983 criminalized climbing the pyramid and imposed a penalty of up to one month in prison.

And a fine of no more than 100,000 pounds or one of these two penalties for anyone who climbs Egyptian antiquities, commits an act contrary to public morals, offends the country in museums or archaeological sites, or surreptitiously enters them, provided that the penalty is doubled if the two mentioned actions are linked to climbing and destroying.

For his part, the director of the pyramid’s antiquities area, Ashraf Mohieldin, revealed that “the aforementioned video was filmed in the pyramid area, but the singer Sandy did not climb the pyramid or even take it down by plane, as it was circulated on various social media sites.”

He explained that “the pictures that the singer published on her pages have been modified with Photoshop techniques.”

He pointed out that the company executing the advertisement took pictures from different angles using a drone camera.

Pictures of the singer were also taken on a similar model in front of Chroma, and the videos were installed.
