Saudi Foreign Minister: Our relationship with Qatar is very good, and the Khashoggi incident will not happen again | A homeland tweeting outside the flock


In statements that renewed the controversy over the actions of the repressive regime in Saudi Arabia led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said that the Kingdom held those involved in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi accountable, and took measures to ensure that what happened would never be repeated through it or any of its agencies.

During his speech before the “Aspen” security forum held online, according to the Saudi “Al-Sharq” channel, the Saudi Foreign Minister pointed out that the Kingdom has become one of the leading countries in combating terrorism, its financing and extremist ideology.

Saudi-Qatar relationship

In another context, the Saudi Foreign Minister stressed that relations with Qatar are very good, and Riyadh is working with it on several issues.

According to the Saudi “Al-Sharq” network, bin Farhan indicated that the two countries continue to work to strengthen the Gulf Cooperation Council.

He explained that the Al-Ula agreement led to the resolution of differences and proved its effectiveness in strengthening the unity of Gulf cooperation.

The Saudi foreign minister indicated that his country would support the nuclear agreement with Iran if it ensured that Tehran would never obtain nuclear weapons.

Bin Farhan added that Saudi Arabia is discussing with the United States issues of concern to both parties, such as Iran’s activities and its obstruction of maritime navigation.

Saudi Foreign Minister talks about the Houthis in Yemen

The Saudi foreign minister pointed out that his country’s message to the Houthis is that they must agree to dialogue and be part of Yemen’s future.

He explained that the biggest challenge is to ensure that any agreement with Iran is a guarantee to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The Saudi foreign minister indicated that Iran threatens shipping operations in the Gulf and is part of the crisis in Lebanon.

He explained that accepting Iran as an active member in the region requires that it stop provoking instability in the region.

King Salman sends a message to the King of Jordan with Prince Faisal bin Farhan

In another context, Jordan’s King Abdullah II received, today, Tuesday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan at Al Husseiniya Palace.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan wrote on his Twitter account: “I was honored to convey the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”

He continued, “During the meeting, we discussed ways to strengthen the established brotherly relations and the long-standing ties of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in all fields.”

In the same context, the Saudi Press Agency “SPA” reported that King Salman sent an oral message to King Abdullah II “concerning the historical brotherly relations between the two sister kingdoms and ways to enhance joint cooperation.”

The message was conveyed by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, when the King of Jordan received him at Al Husseiniya Palace in the capital Amman today.

According to “SPA”, during the reception, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to the Jordanian monarch and to the brotherly Jordanian government and Prime Time Zone.

While King Abdullah conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, and the government and Prime Time Zone of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the reception, they reviewed the solid historical relations linking the two brotherly countries and peoples and ways of developing them in all fields.

The two sides also discussed strengthening joint cooperation in many aspects, including bilateral political cooperation that supports the security and stability of the region, in addition to discussing the latest developments in regional and international events, and issues of common interest.

The two sides discussed opportunities to increase trade exchange between the two brotherly countries, and support inter-investment in light of the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030, which provides many promising opportunities, especially in technology, innovation and renewable energy.

For its part, the Jordanian Royal Court stated that the Jordanian monarch praised, during the meeting, the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of Jordan “in facing various challenges, including the issue of sedition that Jordan has nipped in its cradle.”

Pointing out that “the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its explicit messages of support reflect its policy and the policy of its leadership in support of Jordan always, and its support for Jordan in all circumstances.”

He stressed that “the security of Jordan and Saudi Arabia is one and that they stand united in the face of all challenges,” referring to “the centrality of the historical relations that unite the two brotherly countries.”

The Jordanian monarch stressed that “the solid relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia are well-established and solid, not shaken by doubts and gossip.”
