Erdogan: Meeting with Biden “positive”

After his participation in the NATO summit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a press conference that his meeting with his American counterpart Joe Biden in Brussels was “positive”, and that he had invited him to visit Turkey.

He indicated that he held a bilateral meeting with Biden for more than half an hour, and then they chaired the meeting of the two countries’ delegations.

He confirmed that he had a “fruitful meeting” with Biden in their first face-to-face meeting, after the latter assumed the presidency.

He pointed out that he discussed with Biden during today’s meeting what can be done in the field of defense industries, and they agreed that the foreign and defense ministers would discuss the issue, and then take the necessary steps.

In response to a question about whether he will visit the United States during the coming period, President Erdogan indicated that he will participate in the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in addition to the opening of the “Turkish House” (cultural) in New York to coincide with the meeting.

He continued, “We discussed the approach of building cooperation opportunities in areas of common interests.”
