Major General Muhammad al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, said that the governorate donated the land on which the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition is being held, and there is coordination with the President of the Chamber of Commerce to extend the period of holding the exhibition in the event of the continued intensity of the influx of the public.
Al-Sharif added, during his tour of the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition held by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, that there are about 40 companies in the exhibition offering discounts of up to 30%.
Ahmed Al-Wakeel, head of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, explained that the discounts offered by the companies differ according to the goods offered, and range from 10% to 30%.
He stressed the availability of all commodities and basic products and everything related to the house from the needs of the month of Ramadan, whether yamish or other products, indicating that the exhibition period will be extended as soon as the number of citizens continues.
Mohamed Saadallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Alexandria, indicated that the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition runs from 5 to 12 April, and includes about 40 branches of many companies that have prepared in less than 48 hours.
He added that the participating companies include holding companies such as Alexandria for consumer complexes, extracted oils, mills, the General Company for Wholesale Trade, in addition to some private sector companies, which all provide basic and Ramadan commodities, vegetables and fruits as well as freezers such as meat and poultry.
Fayez Abu Olfa, director of the General Company for Wholesale Trade in Alexandria, said that besides its participation in the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition, the company distributes food supplies to the supply system in the governorates, and the company also participates in many exhibitions at the republic level.
He continued: “The company provides, through its pavilion at the exhibition, various types of commodities such as oils, ghee, freezers and canned goods at wholesale prices with a reduction of up to 30%.”
