The Chinese futures market continued to achieve strong growth during the first quarter of this year in terms of trading volume and revenues, according to industrial data.
The number of futures trades in the first quarter reached 1.849 billion, with revenues of 141 trillion yuan (about 21.5 trillion US dollars), according to the China Futures Association.
These two numbers increased by 69.86% and 83.08%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. In March alone, the number of futures trades reached 800.6 million, with a revenue of 60.08 trillion yuan, according to the association.
