The court said in a statement: “Following the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to all Muslims throughout the Kingdom, seek to see the crescent moon of the blessed month of Ramadan. On the evening of Sunday the 29th of the month of Sha`ban, according to the Umm al-Qura calendar, if it is not seen, then the crescent is seen on the evening of Monday corresponding to the 30th of the month of Sha`ban. According to the Umm al-Qura calendar for the 29th of the month of Sha’ban, according to the Supreme Court’s decision, according to the Supreme Court decision No. 1829 dated 7/1/1433 AH, which stipulates the monitoring of the eligibility of the months on the twenty-ninth day that follows.

Arab countries investigated the crescent of Ramadan

(16-46 minutes), so Monday April 12 of the current year AD will be the completion of the month of Shaban 1442 AH, and the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan 1442 AH will be astronomical on Tuesday April 13, 2021 AD.

But some other countries – such as Palestine, Oman, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Libya, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania. And most of the non-Arab Muslim countries in Africa – Shaban started late. Which means that the vision for her will be. On Monday, April 12, in that case the moon will already be above the horizon when seen, but seeing it with naked eyes will be impossible, according to the International Astronomy Center. It is possible with great difficulty through a telescope in the Maghreb countries and Sudan.

In these countries, there are two possibilities. Either the competent authorities can observe the crescent through telescopes, and then the next day will be announced. (Tuesday, April 13) The first of Ramadan, but if these bodies are not able to observe the crescent, then Tuesday will be the completion of the month of Sha`ban. Ramadan begins on Wednesday, April 14th.
