The Ministry of Irrigation stressed that farmers will not bear any fees or costs for rehabilitation and lining of canals.
The ministry said that the state bears all the costs necessary to implement the national project for the rehabilitation and lining of canals, the cost of the first phase of which is estimated at 18 billion pounds.
She indicated that the project is being implemented at the highest levels of quality while adhering to the implementation timeline.
The national project for the rehabilitation of canals aims to rehabilitate about 7,000 kilometers of tired canals at a total cost of 18 billion pounds by mid-2022, by rationalizing water uses, solving water delivery problems at the ends of canals, and contributing to ensuring that water reaches the ends of canals as soon as possible to achieve justice in distributing Water and increase agricultural productivity.
