The government decided to submit a bill to the House of Representatives to delay the entry into force of the real estate registration law until the end of December 2021.
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting to discuss the registration file in the real estate registration.
The meeting witnessed the agreement that the government would submit a draft law to the House of Representatives to amend Law No. 186 of 2020, regarding amending some provisions of Law No. 114 of 1946, regulating real estate registration, giving the Council of Ministers to postpone the implementation of this law until the end of next December 2021.
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, emphasized that the first goal of the state is the interest of citizens and facilitating them.
Madbouly said that postponing the entry into force of this law until the end of this year would provide an opportunity to cooperate with Parliament in proposing some ideas to facilitate the citizens and stimulate registration, chief among them separating the payment of real estate tax from the real estate registration procedures, and the delivery of facilities.
The Prime Minister added that about 95% of our real estate in Egypt is unregistered, and the government hopes that all citizens will register their properties, with the aim of fortifying and preserving the properties, so the government will work on its part to facilitate the procedures for real estate registration.
Counselor Omar Marawan, Minister of Justice, explained during the meeting that the step of registration in the real estate registration aims at inventorying real estate wealth, creating an identity for each property, and the planned expansion of construction sites, in addition to working to secure citizens’ ownership and maximizing their benefits, as well as controlling and securing And revitalizing the real estate market, and at the same time eliminating unauthorized building and slums.
