The launch of the International Conference on Arab Food Safety on March 22nd

The activities of the second session of the International Conference on Arab Food Safety will start on March 22nd, and is organized by the Arab Union for the Development of Urban Communities.

The conference is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the presence of Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity.

Dr. Adel Rahuma, President of the Arab Union for the Development of Urban Communities, said that the conference aims to activate oversight on achieving food safety and quality for the consumer, given its great role in preserving public health.

He pointed out that the conference seeks to create mechanisms of communication between all relevant authorities and agencies in Arab countries to develop realistic solutions, update legislation and laws regulating food circulation and production in Arab countries in line with international standards and specifications, and strengthen the role of supervision and inspection to achieve the highest level of food safety and quality.

He pointed out that the conference also aims to enhance joint Arab efforts to raise food quality and safety and create mechanisms to support the export process between brotherly countries, and the role of small and medium food processing projects and their effects on economic development will also be highlighted.

The conference is scheduled to be attended by Nevin Jama, Minister of Trade and Industry, Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Mr. Al-Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture, Ashraf El-Jazayeri, Chairman of the Chamber of Food Industries, Engineer Hany Barzy, Chairman of the Export Council for Food Industries, representatives of the Egyptian Ministry of Health, members of the Egyptian Parliament and a number of ambassadors of the brotherly Arab countries. And representatives of the League of Arab States and heads of government agencies.
