Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, gave a presentation on the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus, during a cabinet meeting today, headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister.
The minister indicated that with regard to vaccines to deal with the Corona virus, the Chinese government has agreed to register the Chinese “Sinopharm” vaccine, while the British government also agreed yesterday to register the “AstraZeneca” vaccine.
The Minister discussed the status of the totals for the numbers of cases that have been cured and discharged from hospitals, as well as those newly infected with the virus, and the distribution of those confirmed cases at the level of the Republic, especially the governorates that recorded the most cases of Coronavirus, the age groups that were most vulnerable to infection, as well as the special occupancy rates. In internal beds, intensive care, as well as ventilators, inside isolation, fever and chest hospitals nationwide.
The minister referred to the precautionary measures that are being applied at the international level in conjunction with the celebrations of Christmas and New Year’s holidays, as well as the global position of vaccines, as well as the position on them in Egypt, and the procedures and steps taken in this regard to obtain the vaccines that have been registered.
She drew attention to the efforts made to automate the system for tracking the vaccine, which begins with registering citizens who want to receive the vaccine, until they receive it, as well as what this system includes in terms of tracking the quantities of the vaccine from its arrival until its distribution through the various stages of this process, explaining in this regard the journey for citizens to obtain the vaccine. Since its registration on the site designated for this, through its debating and reviewing its data, until obtaining the vaccine, and following it up after receiving it, so that a medical file is created for the recipients, including the sick history and vital signs in addition to recording any symptom that appears after receiving the vaccine.
The minister indicated that the registration system was designed to allow a greater number of screens to suit the method of citizen registration to obtain the vaccine, either through service providers at the receiving sites, or through service providers on the hotline, or through the official website through the citizen himself.
She added that the system is available in Arabic and English, and contains all information of interest to the citizen before starting the registration.
The minister noted the priorities that have been identified for those eligible to receive the vaccine, explaining that they included workers in the health system, as well as oncology patients, Prime Time Zone with chronic diseases, and the elderly.
