The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla, discussed with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jordan, Engineer Hala Zawati, who is currently visiting Cairo, the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of oil, gas and energy, and ways to support them during the coming period in order to maximize the economic benefits, balance and integration between the two countries.
During the meeting, they reviewed the developments of cooperation between the member states of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum and the efforts made in light of the “Corona” pandemic, as well as discussing new areas of work to expand the frameworks for ongoing cooperation.
In a statement today, Thursday, Al-Mulla said that the integration between the two countries, especially in the field of natural gas, has witnessed a remarkable development with the support of the political will of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Jordanian King Abdullah II, in a way that contributes to increasing the volume of cooperation and developing the volume of Egyptian companies’ business inside Jordan.
For her part, Minister Hala Zawati affirmed that coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the field of gas and petroleum represents a model for joint cooperation, confirms the depth of relations and is the culmination of joint work, praising the performance of the Egyptian petroleum companies operating in Jordan and their implementation of projects with the highest specifications and at the specified times according to the timetables set.
