Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, met today, Sunday, with the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), one of the development partners in the success of the new comprehensive health insurance project in the governorates of the phase. Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky said that the meeting discussed aspects of cooperation and partnership between the two sides to support the success of the new comprehensive health insurance project, the current status of comprehensive health coverage in Egypt, and the implementation of the second phase of the project within the framework of extending its umbrella over the coming years to all governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to achieve The Egyptians dream of universal health coverage and care of the highest international quality, and in light of the implementation of the goals of the new republic and the comprehensive sustainable development of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Al-Sobky added that the meeting reviewed the results of the JICA delegation’s visit during the past few days, with three other delegations (the World Health Organization, the World Bank, the French Development Agency), to the authority’s health facilities in Port Said Governorate, “Al-Nasr Specialist Children’s Hospital, Specialist Ophthalmology” hospital. , Central Family Medicine “Arabs, Ali bin Abi Talib”.

Al-Sobki added that the meeting included a discussion of enhancing the operational capabilities with which support can be provided based on the authority’s plan and objectives during the next phase towards presenting an advanced model of health care and providing services and integrated health care for beneficiaries of the new comprehensive health insurance, in addition to the global equipment of the authority’s health facilities and qualifying them to obtain The degree of national accreditation internationally recognized by ESCWA in accordance with GAHAR2021 standards.
He stressed the completion of the digital transformation of services to facilitate the work environment for service providers and for citizens to obtain services with ease, and the authority’s future plan to benefit from health technology and artificial intelligence applications for prediction, mapping diseases and developing health policies and strategies to distribute health services throughout Egypt.
Sobky continued, that the meeting touched on the importance of concerted efforts to achieve comprehensive health coverage for Egyptians, in order to ensure the improvement of the quality of healthy life for the Egyptian citizen, through three main axes, namely, the new comprehensive health insurance project, a decent life initiative to develop Egyptian villages, in addition to public health initiatives. These include the presidential health initiatives for early detection of diseases and the speed of their control or containment, especially chronic diseases, in addition to the health initiatives launched by the authority in the governorates of comprehensive health insurance to maintain the public health of individuals.
The head of the Health Care Authority stressed that JICA is one of the development partners in the new comprehensive health insurance system, within the framework of the distinguished Egyptian-Japanese relations that promote the development of the health sector, transfer of expertise in the field of comprehensive health coverage and benefit from Japanese technology in developing operating systems and programs Health care and monitoring its performance, as well as benefiting from Japanese experiences in the automation of services and electronic transactions, which contributed to strengthening good governance, good management of the system, its quality and ensuring its sustainability.
El-Sobky praised the support of many parties for the success of the new comprehensive health insurance system, the future of Egypt’s health, and thanked all success partners, including the Japan International Cooperation Agency for supporting the health sector in Egypt, where he stressed the strength of relations between Egypt and Japan and the continuous support, pointing out that the meeting Today, it comes as a continuation of the Egyptian state’s keenness under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to pay attention to achieving comprehensive health care and coverage for citizens, and to build a strong and sound health system in accordance with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
