The UAE Ministry of Finance said in a statement that it had approved a federal budget of 58.9 billion dirhams (16.04 billion dollars) for the year 2022.
The ministry added that the budget includes spending 24.2 billion dirhams on social development programs, 21.5 billion dirhams for general government affairs, and 980.5 million dirhams for federal projects.
The federal budget constitutes only a small part of the total spending in the Emirates, as each emirate has its own budget. But the federal budget gives an indication of the official plans for the economy.
The Ministry of Finance said that the budget includes allocating 2.3 billion dirhams for infrastructure and 2.4 billion dirhams for financial investments.
