In a new development of her case, the lawyer of Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum, the daughter of the ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid, said that the guards in the place of her detention are carrying out. Practices in order to push her to commit suicide.

“We hope to see action, and that there will be action,” said Heba Zayadin, a Gulf researcher at Human Rights Watch.

She added, “We hope that the United Nations calls clearly and completely for her release and not just to prove that she is still alive.”

The researcher at Human Rights Watch stressed the need for the UAE authorities to allow Sheikha Latifa to travel abroad. Where she can speak freely.

Amnesty International’s Deputy Regional Director Lynn Maalouf also expressed their deep concern in the Foundation for the safety of Sheikha Latifa.

“We are very concerned about her safety,” she said in statements to her. “Her friends say that all contact with her has stopped in recent months.”

Maalouf also continued in her speech that “Sheikha Latifa may be detained in a golden cage, but this does not change the reality. Her deprivation of freedom is arbitrary ”.
