Six Egyptian companies will participate in the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition “WETEX” and Dubai Solar Energy, starting today, on the sidelines of the “Expo 2020” exhibition.
Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairman of the Export Council for Engineering Industries, said that the participating companies include the water and energy sectors, and the participation will be through an Egyptian pavilion in the exhibition, organized by the Export Council for Engineering Industries.
This is the 23rd edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy, which runs from 5-7 October, and includes companies in the sectors of electricity, water, environment, energy-saving lighting, smart and sustainable infrastructure, and water treatment and purification.
WETEX is an opportunity to raise the contribution of the Middle East and North Africa region to international efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals.
Al-Sayyad added to “Al Borsa” that the establishment of “WETEX” on the sidelines of the “Expo 2020” exhibition will give a greater opportunity to promote Egyptian products in light of the large number of visitors who will visit the exhibition this session.
He pointed out that the council is keen to participate in specialized exhibitions because of their good returns and increase the sector’s exports in parallel with the council’s plans and trade missions in Africa, and buyers’ missions that attract it to the local market.
This year’s WETEX and Dubai Solar Show includes 10 international pavilions, and the exhibition spans over an area of more than 29,200 square meters, with the participation of more than 1,200 companies from 55 countries.
For her part, Mai Helmy, Executive Director of the Export Council for Engineering Industries, said that the Council is participating in an Egyptian pavilion in the Water Hall, and another pavilion in the Electricity Hall.
She explained that the participation will include the water and electricity sectors, as the companies Pure Life and Soul Water will participate in the water sector, and Ejtravo, Al-Tawakul, El-Sewedy and Mako companies will participate in the electricity and energy sector.
The activities of Expo 2020 Dubai started last Friday, and it is the largest event in the world since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, and its activities will continue from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, which is the first time that the “Expo” Expo is held in the Middle East.
The exhibition opened its doors to participants and exhibitors from 192 participating countries, after being postponed for a year due to the global Corona pandemic, and it is held under the slogan “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future”, and it is held on an area of 4.3 square kilometers, and at a cost of approximately $7 billion.
