Turkey’s trade deficit shrank 46.6% in September

The Turkish Ministry of Trade said on Friday that Turkey’s trade deficit shrank 46.6 percent year on year to 2.6 billion dollar in September according to the general trading system.

September exports rose 30 percent to $20.78 billion after being hit in the spring of last year as the COVID-19 pandemic affected trade with Ankara’s largest partner.

Imports rose 12.2 percent year on year in September to $23.39 billion.
