Promise was made through social networks this Monday, 26; most of the immunizers are from AstraZeneca
Published on social networks this Monday morning, 26, the Ministry of Health stated that over the next three days it will distribute more than 10 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19 to accelerate immunization in the country. According to the folder, the total amount of distribution planned from this second onwards is 10.2 million: 3.812 million from AstraZeneca through production by Fiocruz; 1.036 million from AstraZeneca through the Covax Facility consortium; 3,335 million from CoronaVac delivered by the Butantan Institute and 2,104 million from Pfizer. The distribution must be made to all States and the Federal District in proportion to the number of residents of the federative units.
The announcement of the distribution of new vaccines comes at a time when eight Brazilian capitals suspended the application of first doses due to lack of immunizing agents. This Monday afternoon, the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, criticized the delay in the delivery of vaccines, saying that “Ministry of Health has 16 million vaccines in stock and hundreds of Brazilians dying daily due to lack of vaccines”. According to data from the Ministry of Health, 164.4 million vaccines have been distributed so far, with 60% of the population over 18 years old with at least the first dose.
